Blueberries are ready for harvest in August. Highland Valley Farm is recognized as a leading producer of blueberries in the State of Wisconsin.  Most of the blueberries we grow are improved "half-highbush" varieties which combine the best attributes of their wild and cultivated parents.  Chest-high bushes and large berry size afford easy picking.  Wild fruit flavor is a bonus.

Both pick-your-own and ready-picked berries are available at the farm in season.  Highland Valley Farm blueberries can also be found in the produce section of many fine food stores throughout a four state region including Wisconsin, Minnesota, Upper Michigan, and Iowa.
Look for the "Bayfield Blues" label!

Red Raspberries are a part of Bayfield's heritage.  One of the nearby Apostle Islands even bears the name "Raspberry".  Our Lake Superior affected climate favors the production of these precious eatable jewels. Improved varieties that cannot be grown successfully elsewhere in the Midwest thrive on our Bayfield farm.

Harvest begins in early July.  Come and pick-your-own at one of our fields, or place an order for fresh ready-picked berries to take home.  Our raspberries are Bayfield's finest!

Honey from Highland Valley Farm is unique.
Light-amber in color, our crop most usually is a blend of the nectars from raspberry and wildflower blossom.  It has a distinctive "fruity" flavor and aroma that has been pleasing our loyal customers for more than thirty years.  It is for sale retail at the farm in a variety of labeled package sizes.

Maple Syrup is the first harvest of the year.
A rustic "sugar house" stands in the middle of our twelve acre Maple "sugar bush."  Every year in the late winter our partners, friends and family work together to gather sap and boil it to finished syrup.  We process our syrup in a wood-fired stainless steel drop-flue evaporator.  Our syrup is then packed in pint, and quart size labeled glass containers for retail sale at our on-farm-store.

Red and Black Currants are our newest crop.

These healthy berries with their unique flavor have long been popular in Europe and are now gaining popularity in the USA. (Check out our neighbor Jill O'Neil's blog post on cooking with red currants here.)  Although our present production of currants is limited, initial trials have been promising, and we are now expanding our plantings.  A limited amount of pick-your-own and ready-picked red and black currants are available at the farm each summer.  We recommend contacting us in advance if you are interested in this specialty crop.
